Position: Financial Analyst/Modeler

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Start Date: Immediately

The Financial Analyst/Modeler will support the VP, Finance and operational management teams in preparing, building and optimizing financial models. The successful candidate will contribute to the business by creating a data driven framework for making key decisions, modeling critical business variables, providing dynamic and insightful analysis, including long range strategic plans, annual budget and regular forecasts.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Support extensive analysis and scenario planning during reporting cycles including forecasts, annual, budgets and long-range strategic planning
  • Run and improve forecasting models, data analytics capabilities and automated dashboards
  • Identify key industry trends and develop processed to align internal data and external research
  • Make recommendations for process and system improvements to provide more efficient and reliable analysis
  • Assist with ad hoc requests for analysis and project support across revenue and cost operations
  • Accurate management of information flows used to maintain financial models
  • Take responsibility for structural integrity and functionality of models
  • Work internally as part of multi-functional teams to assess markets and projects as required
  • Provide clear financial analysis and communication of results
  • Provide financial and operational support during RFP bid processes
  • Additional duties as assigned

Role Deliverables:

  • Financial forecast and scenario modelling
  • Transaction modelling such as valuations and option appraisals
  • Reviewing of financial models
  • Implementing tactical solutions that automate finance and other operations (i.e. remediation)
  • Development of data models to support modelling and analytics deliverables
  • Using visualization and analytical software (such as the Power BI) to drive insights from data to inform business decisions

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Degree in business, accounting or finance or similar
  • Completion of CFA designation
  • Completion of, or advanced progression toward, a CPA designation
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience of producing Financial Models using VBA and Excel
  • A minimum 3-4 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of Aviation industry considered an asset
  • Ability to analyze qualitative & quantitative information for decision making
  • Ability to multi-task, with a high level of accuracy and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work as a contributing team member with minimal supervision
