2024 Calm Air Photo/Video Contest

A great chance for you to share amazing photos/videos and win fantastic prizes!

Look through your photo gallery and find high-resolution photos/videos (any season); submit them through the official contest form (below) and have a chance to win one of the prizes! Get inspired and take incredible pictures/videos before the deadline of May 8, 2024.

We will announce three winners in each category: 

 
My favorite thing about Calm Air (video only)  
Details: Please provide us with a short video or a reel 10-45 seconds in vertical format describing what you love about Calm Air including our staff, our service, etc.  Videos can be taken either in our plane, in an airport or outside in your favorite community serviced by Calm Air in Manitoba or Nunavut.  

Passenger photo in one of our communities (images) 
Details: Please provide a photo or photos of yourself, either a selfie or taken by someone else, at your favorite spot or event within one of Calm Air's communities.

Details: Please provide an image or images of yourself, either a selfie or have someone take it of you in the airport, with our plane in the background from a safe distance or in one of our planes. Please note that images taken from the apron are against Transport Canada regulations.

Prizes  (9 prizes will be awarded in total)  

1st prize - 2 Calm Air return tickets to fly anywhere in Manitoba or Nunavut on a Calm Air scheduled flight (taxes and fees all included). One winner in each category. 
2nd prize - $500 Calm Air gift card – Can be used towards future flights or freight. One winner in each category.  
3rd prize - $200 Walmart gift card. One winner in each category. 
 
Preparing Your Entries 

1. Preference will be given to high-resolution digital images and videos  
2. Submissions will not be accepted via email
3. Digital images may be submitted in JPEG.
4. Uploaded images should be 20MB and under in size, if you have any issues uploading please check the file size.

Feel free to submit multiple images or videos if they pertain to the same category; otherwise, please submit a separate entry for each category.
 

Terms and Conditions: 

1. All photos/videos must be original work, taken by the entrants in any season. No third party may own or control any materials the photo contains.
2. Violators will be removed from the contest and stripped of any prize(s). 
3. Entries will not be accepted unless submitted via the official contest form. 
4. Please adhere to all safety guidelines when capturing images at or near airports. It is strictly prohibited to take photographs of Calm Air planes while walking on the apron prior to boarding the aircraft, and after disembarking the aircraft, in accordance with Transport Canada regulations.
5. Entrants may submit as many entries per contest as they wish. 
6. Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses. 
7. If the selected winning entrants do not respond within five (5) calendar days of the first notification attempt an alternate winner may be selected. 
8. Photos/videos don't need to be current. 
9. Please, follow all rules, regulations and safety instructions when taking photos/videos.
10. Calm Air employees are not eligible for this contest.
11.  You confirm that the photographs and/or videos submitted by you as entries in the contest (the “Submissions”) are submitted with your full knowledge and consent. You further grant Calm Air International LP (“Calm Air”), and its parent company and affiliates, permission and the right to use, reuse, post, display, transmit, publish, republish or otherwise use the Submissions, your image and all materials created by or on behalf of Calm Air that incorporate any of the foregoing ("Materials") in perpetuity in whole or in part without restriction as to alteration, reproduction in colour or otherwise without further consent from or royalty, payment, or other compensation to you.
12. You confirm that you have obtained explicit consent from all identifiable individuals featured in the Submissions for their likeness to be captured, submitted, and potentially displayed publicly as part of Calm Air’s contest or in other Materials. You further confirm that you have obtained all necessary releases, permissions, and clearances from any recognizable individuals in the Submissions for its use as described herein.
13. Calm Air shall be the exclusive owner(s) of all right, title, and interest in and to the Submissions and any Materials, including all copyrights, in perpetuity. By submitting any Submission, you: (a) irrevocably transfer, assign, and otherwise convey to Calm Air your entire right, title, and interest, if any, in and to the Submissions and the Materials and all copyrights and other intellectual property rights in the Submissions and the Materials arising in any jurisdiction in perpetuity, including all registration, renewal, and reversion rights; and (b) irrevocably waive all so-called "moral rights" in the Submissions and/or the Materials.
14. By submitting any Submission and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you: (a) irrevocably waive all legal and equitable rights relating to all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, suits, damages, and expenses, including but not limited to claims for copyright infringement, infringement of moral rights, libel, defamation, invasion of any rights of privacy (including intrusion upon seclusion, false light, public disclosure of private facts, and misappropriation of name or likeness), violation of rights of personality or publicity, physical or emotional injury or distress, or any similar claim or cause of action in tort, contract or any other legal theory, now known or hereafter known in any jurisdiction (collectively, "Claims") arising directly or indirectly from Calm Air's exercise of its rights under these terms and conditions or the publication, production, exhibition, exploitation, advertising, promotion, or other use of the Submissions or any of the Materials; and (b) whether resulting in whole or in part from the negligence of Calm Air or any other person, covenant not to make or bring any such Claim against Calm Air or its parent company or its affiliates; and (c) forever release and discharge, and agree to hold harmless Calm Air and its parent company and affiliates and their respective directors, officers, licenses and agents from and against, any and all Claims.
15. By submitting any Submission, you waive all rights to inspect and approve any Material, publication or medium in which the Submissions may be used pursuant to these terms and conditions and you agree that these terms and conditions cannot be terminated, rescinded, or modified, in whole or in part.
16. By submitting any Submission, you confirm that: (a) you are at least 18 years old and have full rights, power, and authority to agree to these terms and conditions and that there exist no conflicting agreements or understandings which would prevent you from agreeing to these terms and conditions; and (b) you have read and understood these terms and conditions.
